A sketchbook kept in public by Aleksandra. For now, most drawings here are made with code: placeholders holding the space, politely, until chosen work moves in.

Contour study

07 art · Drawing study

Loops, dots and an imperfect center. Repetition with a little friction.

  1. a The imperfect center: one red dot, a little east and north of where the loops begin.
  2. b Every fourth loop is inked harder, so the eye can count.
  3. c Stipple gathers toward the middle and thins toward the edge.

Notes from the margin

The thought around the thing, given room on the page.

The first note is about the space around work: the question before it, the decisions inside it, and whatever is still open. It is short, and it is set the way the rest will be: a column for reading, a margin for thinking.

Aleksandra

Keeps this site: art, experiments, and field notes, in roughly that order of noise.

Rhematic is one worldbuilding project inside it. Its private world stays private; what appears here is the threshold, not the interior.

The pictures are drawn with code for now. Real work is on its way and will bring its own colours with it.

Type
Fraunces, at sizes from margin to masthead; IBM Plex Mono for the small print.
Drawings
Seeded procedural SVG. Each stroke is given a slight tremor so nothing is ruled perfectly.
Ink
Black on paper, and one red, kept for corrections and exceptions.
Quiet
No tracking, no audio, nothing fetched from elsewhere. Reads without JavaScript.
